Estimate your VPT total in a minute. Victoria uses the VPT to rank every Registration of Interest (ROI) for Skilled Nominated (190) and Skilled Work Regional (491) nomination — and there is no fixed pass mark.
Victoria’s 2026–27 skilled visa nomination program is now open for Registrations of Interest (ROIs) for the Skilled Nominated visa, subclass 190.
Each year, the Australian Government provides nomination allocations to state and territory governments for subclass 190 and the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa, subclass 491.
Victoria has been provided with 900 nomination places for subclass 190 in 2026–27. Eligibility and ROI submission requirements apply.
The 2026–27 subclass 491 allocation has not yet been finalised. ROIs for subclass 491 are not currently being accepted.
Further information will be published once Victoria’s subclass 491 nomination places are confirmed. Prepare your EOI and ROI early so you are ready when the relevant pathway opens.

Every ROI receives a VPT total, calculated from your SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) and your Victorian ROI. ROIs are ranked from highest to lowest. The VPT favours younger, highly qualified applicants with higher English levels — so keep your EOI accurate and up to date.
In each invitation round, ROIs with the highest VPT totals across all eligible occupations in the pool are invited.
In each round, ROIs with the highest VPT totals within each priority industry or subgroup are invited. See the list below.
Unlike SkillSelect (minimum 65 points), the VPT has no threshold. Your chances depend on your total relative to other applicants in each round.
Victoria does not prioritise invitations based on age or an expiring visa or document. Preparing early is your best advantage.
Certain occupations in Victorian industries are prioritised to address critical skills needs. Registrations of Interest (ROIs) in each priority industry or industry subgroup are ranked using the Victorian Points Test (VPT). ROIs with the highest VPT totals within each priority industry or industry subgroup are invited to apply for nomination.
This list is for information only and does not change your VPT total. Partner skills points (50) also require your partner’s occupation to be a current priority industry occupation.
